Maximize Safety and Minimize Bruising

Clients come to Injections by Megan to enhance their appearance and look more youthful. The last thing they want to do is walk out with a bruise.  Injecting the face can be like walking through a minefield.  Every face is unique and while general vascular anatomy is well understood, there is a LOT of guesswork when injecting someone’s face.

When it comes to aesthetic injectables, post-procedure bruising is one of the most common reasons that patients are hesitant to undergo treatment. Unfortunately, even the most experienced injectors can accidentally puncture one of the face’s delicate veins without a little help.

AccuVein® Vein Visualization

How Can Our Advanced Technology Help Reduce Bruising?

Advanced Technology

We use advanced vein viewing technology allows us to have a visual map of your veins (also known as vein illumination).  Our technology uses safe barcode-scanner class lasers that work in tandem to provide a real time image map of the subcutaneous vasculature up to 10mm deep.

For cosmetic injections, our advanced technology enables more effective procedures with less patient discomfort.

Could you imagine a doctor performing surgery without xrays and imaging?  Well injecting  your face is no different.

One of the benefits of using an AccuVein when getting any injectable treatment is that the device gives you a map. When it comes to getting Botox or injectables, this optimizes the injection and allows for less bruising.

Why do so many Patients Experience Bruising After Injectable Treatments?

Within the aesthetics community, it’s a well-known fact that even the most skilled and professional injectors can leave patients with bruises after cosmetic injections. Bruises form when the blood vessels and facial veins below the skin are punctured during the injection process. Unfortunately, there is no reliable way to accurately predict the location of blood vessels or facial veins with the naked eye. This, coupled with the fact that the face is one of the areas of the body most densely populated with veins, makes bruising a frustrating but largely unavoidable reality of most injectable treatments.

If you’re looking for a place to receive more precise injectable procedures, consider the benefits of receiving treatment at Injections by Megan!

Aesthetic Care, Safety and Comfort

Injections by Megan is proud to use the latest innovations and advanced technology in aesthetic care to provide patients with treatments that are both safe and effective.

Before beginning an injectable treatment our Certified Aesthetic Nurse Injector Megan will use our technology to scan over the patient’s desired treatment area. This technology device emits infrared light that is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood. As the blood absorbs this hemoglobin, the vessels and veins below the surface of the skin appear noticeably different than the surrounding tissue. This allows our injectors to select injection sites that skillfully avoid the delicate blood vessels in the area.

How does BOTOX® work?

BOTOX® works to reduce wrinkles by temporarily disconnecting the “power” from the nerve to the muscle so that the muscle does not work for a short time and can’t cause the wrinkles.

Will my wrinkles be worse if I stop using BOTOX®?

No, your wrinkles will go back to their original state if you stop using BOTOX®.

How long has BOTOX® been around?

In one name or another, BOTOX® has been around well over 45 years! When originally used for eye problems such as strabismus or blepharospasm, doctors noted that the wrinkles around the eyes began to go away. Studies were done and BOTOX® got FDA approval in 2002 for cosmetic purposes. It continues to be studied in other areas for cosmetic uses. BOTOX® is one of the most studied drugs in the world.

What are the side effects of BOTOX and how long do they last?

The most common side effect of BOTOX® is a droopy eyelid (known as “ptosis”) or a droopy eyebrow. It is only common in 1% of the population treated and in the hands of a good injector, happens even less. A droopy eyelid can last a few weeks if the BOTOX® is injected properly, but may last as long as three months if injected improperly.* That is a reason to go to an experienced injector.

There are no long-term side effects from BOTOX®. Once injected, the toxin is completely out of the skin in 2.5 to 5 months and leaves you in the same place as before injections.

Sometimes, BOTOX® may cause a headache for a day or two. Most often, BOTOX® reduces the headaches caused by muscle contraction.*.

You typically start to see results after BOTOX® somewhere between 2 to 9 days. Most see results in 2 to 6 days. It won’t take long to get the benefits.

Are there ways to get BOTOX® that looks natural?

A good injector can adjust the BOTOX® dose to give the desired result. She or he can inject BOTOX® to reduce lines while keeping the motion of the muscles.

How long does BOTOX® last?

While the effects of BOTOX® can vary from person to person, the results from treatment can typically last between three to four months*. After that point, muscle action begins to return, and lines and wrinkles become visible again. The effects may also differ based on the area of injection and the dosage
